How to Create digital photo albums

Q. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and I have a huge number of digital photos on my hard drive and was wondering if you knew of a program that could be used to make a catalogue of them with names and file locations so I could browse them and know which folder to get them in?
A. Windows Vista has a feature called Meta Tags, which lets you easily search for your pictures, but it does involve some work on your part. You can use Windows Photo gallery to manage your photos, but you will must put them all into your C:UsersYourusernamePictures directory. You will then see your photos sorted into year, month, day, etc. as well as see all Meta Tags, plus you can add your own tags to untagged photos. An alternative is to use Google Picasa, that you can download from http://picasa.google.com. This is a really good photo management tool, which will help you to catalogue your photos with ease.
