Installing Windows 7

This article aims to demonstrate how to install Windows 7 quickly and easily.
Introduction
The installation and configuration of Windows 7 was much faster and easier compared to previous releases of Windows. Now in less than 30 minutes you install and configure a clean installation of Windows 7 on your computer.
Most users have never made a fresh installation of Windows on their computers, because computers generally have come from the factory with Windows preinstalled. If this is the case, do not worry because this article will guide you step-by-step instructions to install Windows 7 on your computer.
Minimum System Requirements

To run Windows 7 your computer must meet the minimum system requirements. Some features of Windows 7, only work if you have the hardware to support appropriate resource.
Before starting the installation see Tabal 1.1, which describes the minimum system requirements to run Windows 7.

Performing a Clean Install of Windows 7
The simplest installation method to convert an existing computer system to Windows 7 is running a clean installation. This installation method will remove all programs and files from your computer, and configure Windows 7 with all the default settings.
Note
Before performing the procedure described in this article, make sure you have a current backup version to prevent losing your data.
1 – Insert the DVD in Windows 7 DVD and start the computer. The first screen to load the installation is displayed as shown in Figure 1.1.

From the home screen of the installation of Windows 7 make the following settings:
In the Language field to install select the language you want to install on Windows 7. If Windows 7 that you are installing is that Portuguese is the only option available.
In the Time Format field and select the currency format of time and money you want to use. In our example we select the Portuguese (Brazil).
In the field Keyboard or input method, select the model of your keyboard. In our example we selectPortuguese (Brazil – ABNT).
2 – Click the Next button to continue the installation. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.2.

3 – Click the Install Now button. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.3.

4 – On the Read the license terms, read the license terms and select I accept the license terms and then click the Next button. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.4.

5 – In Which type of installation you want you will choose whether to update Windows or run a new facility. Basically your decision will depend on the version of Windows you are running and / or if you want to do a fresh installation. If you select Update Windows 7 will keep all your files, settings and programs. If you select the Custom (advanced) you will install a new copy of Windows 7 on your computer. In our example we will use the Custom option (Advanced) to install a new version of Windows 7. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.5.

Option Update can only be selected if you are running Windows Vista SP1 or SP2.
6 – On the screen where you want to install Windows choose the location where Windows 7 will be installed and the size of your partition. In our example we have a volume of 43.3 GB of free space and have no other volume or partition. To create a partition for the operating system and another for your data drive click Options. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.6.

Windows 7 may be installed on a single partition with no problem, but partitioning the volume will help you separate the data with the Windows installation files and programs.
7 – Select the volume you want to partition and then click the New button. This displays a box to enter the partition size. Enter a size larger than 16 GB and then click the Apply button. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.7.

8 – In the dialog box Install Windows is informed that Windows may create additional partitions for system files. This option will not create an additional partition for you to store your data but to use the system. Click the OK button to continue. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.8.

9 – As mentioned in the previous item was created a partition for system use and one for Windows installation. Select the partition where Windows is installed and then click the Next button to continue. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.9.

10 – In the window Installing Windows wait until the installation is finished. Upon completion of installation of Windows 7 will be charged a window as shown in Figure 1.10.

11 – On the screen as shown in figure 2.16 in the Enter a username you must enter a user name that will be used to log on to Windows and in the Enter a computer name you must type a name to identify your computer on the network . Enter the requested information and then click the Next button. Will load a window as shown in Figure 1.11.

12 – On the Set a password for the account in the Enter a password you must enter a password for the user you created earlier, and in the Enter the password again, repeat the same password you entered earlier. In the Enter a password hint type a hint for you to remember your password and then click theNext button. A window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.12.

13 – In the Enter the Product Key (Product Key) field in the Windows Product Key (Product Key)enter the product key and then click the Next button. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.13.

14 – On the Help protect your computer and improve Windows automatically select one of three options:
Use recommended settings – Selecting this option Windows 7 will keep your computer up to date by installing critical updates and recommended, will help make your Internet browsing safer, check the online problems and solutions and will help Microsoft improve Windows by sending reports errors.
Install important updates only – Selecting this option will automatically install the Windows 7 only important updates. Recommended updates are not installed automatically and you will not get advanced protection against spyware. The solutions to problems and the latest drivers for new hardware or devices not be installed. The SmartScreen filter will not be activated.
Ask Me Later – Selecting this option prompts Windows 7 periodically after the login settings to be selected for the features described in the recommended settings.
In our example we select Use recommended settings. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.14.

15 – On-screen Check the date and time settings in the option select the Time Zone time zone for your country if not configured, make sure the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time is selected, verify that the settings of Date and Time are set correctly and then click the Next button. Window will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.15.

16 – On the screen Select the current location of the computer to select between one of three options, so that Windows can automatically apply the correct network settings based on the location of your network. In our example, the selected option will be the home network. Windows will be loaded as shown in Figure 1.16.

17 – Wait until the configuration of Windows 7 is completed.
