Customize Your Youtube Channel – Add A Background Image

Having a Youtube video channel is now an asset that you should customize and tend to like a website. Branding or customizing your Youtube channel will make you look professional and gain more views and subscribers. Lets face it, anything is better than the normal boring themes that everyone else has. You can add a picture of yourself, arrows pointing to links, messages to visitors, and what ever else you can think of.

What are the specifications for a Youtube background image?

As you can see from the screen shot below, my Youtube video channel background is 1598×1636 and is 214KB. Of course yours does not have to be this exact size. You can experiment and try different sizes.

Can a Youtube background have links embedded into it?

At the moment you cannot put any code into your Youtube channel background. However if you are a Youtube partner (by invitation only) you can place a banner with links in it and a few boxes into the channel itself. You still cannot put clickable links on a Youtube channel background. People have their website address on the background image but you cannot click on it.
